The Angkor Wat! Yes, guys, the most important site when visiting Cambodia. Angkor Wat is definitely a place should be save. In fact, more visitors come, more damages show up... But the tourism receipts are their main-income. So how to keep Angkor Wat conserved is a huge question for the government.
Angkor Wat was hidden by a big forest when discoverers found this magnificent place. Some said that it was Charles Emile Bouillevaux, a French missionary, first found. And then was Henri Mouhot, a natural historian officially published his studies about the places. But according to the local guide, he told us the fact that it was discovered by an unknown ecologist and this guy also found the community whom lived in Angkor Wat for centuries. They just lived self-sufficiently and peaceful, none of them thought this place special, for the community, it was just a place that "somewhere they living in". Therefore, you could see houses in Angkor Wat, the government approve them to stay 'cause this place was the land of their ancestors lived.
As tourists, you must meet some children selling souvenirs, to buy or not, these children are orphans whom were sold by their own family, only for money. So if you saw them selling souvenirs, there are usually bad organizations behind-controlling...
These are some things about Angkor Wat. You should discover all these yourselves! What a place and culture that we must experience at least once in our lives. I always feel more about life when exploring the world, even the breath I breathe become much more precious, 'cause who doesn't live hard for lives, right?
Hope you'll enjoy the post. Wish you great day and a wonderful coming weekend. Big hugs! xx ❤
