'History is written in blood.'
This novel is written by the best known Turkey thriller writer Ahmet Ümit. It's a 588-page-long novel (in Chinese), but I never felt bored. With all the beautiful words and all the climax and the tension in each chapter, I only spent 1 day and didn't take any break during my reading. And I have to say, it's an amazing reading experience!
In the beginning, an abandoned body is found, and it leads to a continuous killing in the following 7 days. In each case, the detective finds something in common on the bodies: they're all holding Turkey Numismatic in hands, and their hands are all point to the place that next murder happen...
The novel also describe the conflict between modernization and ancient construction, and the gap between old religions and modern commercial civilization. And the beautiful words describing the history of Ottoman Empire and the charm of Istanbul.
I do not only read a good novel but also learn so many things about the Ottoman Empire and its historical value.
I just love it, and recommend this to you! Hope you'll like it, and looking forward to see your feedback! xx 💋
